This is one of my earliest photos, taken long before I decided to make a career from photography. Captured without a great camera or any special skill, this is one of the best examples of a rule I have learned to live by: great nature photography is about nature, not technology. The greatest talent of a nature photographer is to know when to be in the right place at the perfect moment, usually a combination planning and a little luck. Nature does not need to be enhanced to have an impact, so the best thing a photographer can do is simply capture the perfect moment, then reproduce it to inspire others.
