Early morning light turns an otherwise stark scene into something quite beautiful. This shallow dam has become a home to a great variety of water birds in a region that is increasingly prone to extended periods of drought. This photo was unplanned, but when we saw noticed the striking reflections in the soft light it was an opportunity too good to pass up.
