Brush Tailed Possums

Brush tailed possums can be found up and down the east coast of Australia. Highly adaptable, they are at home in the suburbs as well as in the bush. This photo was taken in a camping ground at Airlie Beach in Queensland. Young possums usually stay close to their mothers until they are almost fully grown, so I imagine this pair are a mother and child 'negotiating' over a morsel of food.
