Along with the Koala, the Australian Kangaroo is a symbol of all that is unique about Australian wildlife. Sadly, many visitors don't get to see them in the wild, as most popular tourist destinations have few, if any, kangaroos. However, that is not a problem in the Warrumbungles National Park, in central New South Wales, where they gather in their hundreds in the late afternoon on the broad grassy river plain. This shot of two great friends standing side by side to enjoy the sunset is one of my favourites.
