The Rainbow Lorikeet is one of the great characters among Australia's birdlife. Their range covers much of Queensland and New South Wales, and they are equally at home on the coast, in the bush, the mountains and suburban backyards. Loud and rather cranky, they are able to boss around other birds twice their size, and their noisy arguing for the best position in a favourite tree can be heard for miles away. Tourists who come to Australia knowing little of our bird life are delighted by frequent close encountered with these wonderful birds.
