After over 15 years, this is still one of my favourite wildlife photographs. The fiercely defiant pose of the thorny devil is put into context by the tiny wild daisies. The picture is a real symbol of adaptation and the delicate balance of survival in this harsh climate. I have seen several thorny devils in my travels, but this was the first, photographed close to the base of Uluru.
