With a smiling face to go with its laughing call, the Kookaburra is among the most distinctive, and the most popular, of all Australian wildlife. Unlike many animals which are rarely spotted except in captivity, kookaburras have adapted to most Australian habitats, including suburbia, so most visitors to our country get to enjoy an encounter with these wonderful characters. This shot was taken in the Grampians region of Victoria.
