The Devil's Marbles, about 350km north of Alice Springs, is an eerie landscape of boulders, each weighing many tonnes, piled around and on top of each other to create remarkable formations. Late afternoon sunlight creates a striking effect against a darkening sky in this simple but evocative image. This is truly one of Australia's great landscapes. Unfortunately it is never seen by most Australians, who (if they ever visit the outback), are inclined to visit only more famous locations like Alice Springs and Uluru. We hope that through photography like this we can expose more people to the natural jewels of this great country.
