The Glasshouse Mountains, just north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, is one of the true natural icons of Australia. An ancient volcanic formation rising out of the plains, they can be seen from many miles in every direction. One of the best views is only a short drive from our gallery, Nature's Image Photography, and consequently we have a collection of Glasshouse Mountains photos that is second to none.
This is a unique photo for very good reason. From the particular lookout where this image was taken, the full moon comes up in exactly this spot only one day a year. Like all our photos, there is no digital trickery here, just patience, timing and an appreciation for the atmosphere of this timeless landscape.
