The Australian bush offers such a variety of wonderful colour, often in places where you least expect it. The eucalypt, or gum tree, in its many varieties, grows in most parts of the country. It flowers several times a year, in a surprising range of colours according to the variety. This photo, taken in Maleny, Queensland, shows bees hard at work collecting pollen.
